Software Developer (Firmware) | Space Systems

Location: Gurugram, India | Experience: 6-8+ Years | Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MS in Software Engineering or related discipline.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (Firmware) to design and develop embedded software, flight software, and ground segment applications for satellite and space systems. The role involves software architecture, real-time embedded development, testing, integration, and mission support across the complete spacecraft lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop flight software (FSW) and ground station applications for satellite missions.
• Design embedded and real-time software using C, C++, and Python.
• Build drivers and firmware for SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, SpaceWire, and Ethernet interfaces.
• Work with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS and implement telemetry & telecommand systems.
• Perform software verification, validation, SIL/HIL testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with hardware, AOCS, RF, and systems engineering teams for seamless integration.
• Support launch operations, commissioning, in-orbit software updates, and anomaly resolution.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Embedded Software Development, Firmware Development, C/C++, and Python.
• Experience with RTOS, Hardware-Software Integration, SIL/HIL Testing, and Embedded Systems.
• Knowledge of SpaceWire, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and spacecraft communication protocols.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Agile Development, ECSS, NASA, ISRO, and MISRA-C standards.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and system-level testing experience.
