The Problem Statement

To develop a Generative AI-powered EdTech tool which summarizes highlighted or selected text in the uploaded e-book to make online education and concept understanding smoother.

The Solution

KritiKal’s team developed a Vision Language Model-based (VLM) solution that allows students to select a particular area or figure in the uploaded e-book or pdf and provides a simplified explanatory summary. It showcases an intuitive web UI-based dashboard for upload and sidebar to scroll through pages. The solution is enabled with OCR to read text in the selected image and Large Language Models (LLMs) to interpret a given formula, figure, diagram, paragraph or page as well as provide detailed explanation. It compares and contrasts various shapes and graphical representations to derive the right explanation for students to grasp the concept along with integrated text-to-speech assistance.
