AI programs function by using machine vision technology along with different image-processing algorithms to compare objects seen with several stored images to identify the angle, posture, speed, and movement of the subject.

These images are stored for reference so that AI observes and can compare them with real-time feed data to identify the type of the object, whether it is moving, whether it sustains the characteristics of a human body, etc. This technology can be implemented in any video-based camera like thermal cameras, bullet cameras, and even IR cameras.

Deep learning is a subset of machine learning that assists a machine to train the system using pre-stored data, just the way a human being is taught different things.

Cloud storage is an online service used to store data inside a remote server located somewhere on the earth. The introduction of cloud storage service, allowed engineers to store sensitive data directly to a cloud server while avoiding the hassle of getting a physical hard drive and configuring it with the existing system. Moreover, cloud storage gives you access to store data files irrespective of file size which is not true in the case of an ordinary hard disk.

Cloud storage requires minimal configuration and equipment installation. We only need a computer with a high-speed connection to download and upload data to the server.  Additionally, new technology for video surveillance systems, Network Video Recorder (NVR) is specially designed to work with cloud storage. These systems will have a small low capacity storage hard disk that stores data locally until it automatically gets uploaded to the cloud storage.

Below are some of the advantages of using cloud storage over a traditional hard disk-based video surveillance system.

  1. Video files can be accessed from anywhere on any device that is connected to a high-speed internet connection
  2. Files are stored in a remote server so, if local equipment get damaged, video files will still be safe 

PTZ Technology

These are the cameras with pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) ability to cover a larger area that traditionally would require multiple cameras. PTZ cameras have the flexibility to cover a 360-degree view of a spot to cover a wider area for better surveillance.

PTZ technology features:

Panning: The camera can twirl from left to right to capture a 360 view of a spot. 

Tilting: The camera can tilt up and down to cover a maximum vertical area.

Zooming: The camera can use an optical zoom feature to zoom in and zoom out to focus on a distant object for a more detailed view
